Here we would like to tell a little about our new house.

It has been very tough to move but we had also been living in Skanderborg for 14 years so we aren’t that used to move, but it can NOT be recommended to move to often…very hard…very…

We moved out of our old house in Skanderborg on December 1 2005, and now we live very close to Mariager, but still in the countryside in a fantastic nature. You can read about Mariager here:http://www.visitmariager.dk

We decided to sell our house in Skanderborg because it was feeling too large for 2 humans and 2 dogs. We would like a smaller house that didn’t need too much maintenance, but we still would like to live in the countryside. After about 1 years search, many many kilometres of unsuccessful driving and after we had seen a lot of houses, we finally found what we were looking for.

It’s a single-family house build in 1996, but it’s placed on a old parcel because the house that was here before was build in 1830, but it burned down in December 1995 and then they build this house we now live in. The house was owned by a nice older man, but he had a bad health and had a very difficult time holding it so it looked nice. He had earlier been very garden interested, and that we can enjoy now, because there are a lot of interesting trees, bushes and plants in the garden. He has had wild boar, sheep and different aviary’s with birds. We need to say that the ground is 3700 square metres, so he had a lot of free space to all these animals, but it didn’t have our interest, so we had a wrecking company to remove all the sheds and at the same time the cleared the garden for a lot of trees and bushes, so we could get use of the very nice view down over the fields and down to the forest.

 We still need a ”few” things before we are done. These “few” things are: Painting all the wood on the outside of the house (windows, doors, eaves and so on), lay out garden in the farthest end of our rear garden. Thereafter we need to fence in for the dogs, so they can use all the garden as their yard  :o)
We will also have our bathrooms upgraded within a couple of months and when this is done, we will be finished…for now…  :o)
First we used a lot of time making the house in Skanderborg ready for sale, and now we have used a lot of time making our new house ready as we like it…we feel like we haven’t done anything else the last 1½ years, and honestly…it isn’t THAT fun to work on your house….but…we have got it like we want to, and that’s the most important thing for us.
       
   

This is pictures of the view from our garden. There is a big stone at the bottom of the garden. We had it placed there so that the dogs have a place to sit and enjoy the view.
